Greener Initiatives in Apartment Living
This passion project was inspired by my recent move from Dayton to Fairfield, Ohio. My new apartment complex is nestled in a beautiful, nature-filled setting—surrounded by trees, wildlife, and walking paths. As a dedicated advocate for sustainability and green living, I was surprised to discover that recycling wasn’t included with the regular trash pickup. This is true for a lot of apartment complexes, and I would love to change that.
Knowing that the waste management company, Rumpke, does offer recycling services, I took immediate action by contacting the Leasing Office. I inquired about the potential to add recycling to our weekly service and asked about any interim options for responsibly dropping off recyclables.
This project reflects my ongoing commitment to environmental advocacy and my belief that design and action can work hand in hand to influence positive change within our communities.
